Wordless and Wordful Wednesday ~ In Memory

I'm not going to be very wordless today. One of my best friends, Wendy, lost her long battle with cancer last Friday evening. I am so happy that she is no longer in any pain and is dancing in heaven. But a big part of me misses her dearly and is being very selfish because there was still so much we had planned to do. Whoever thought that at 43 I would be burying one of my best friends! I know this is all part of the grief process but some days so far have been harder than others. Luckily packing up my house and getting us ready to move has occupied a big part of my days.

But enough of that...I want to share a photo of her from two Decembers ago when our Bunko group went to a B&B in Fredricksburg, TX. What a fantastic weekend we all had. One evening we were playing games with one of them being Left, Right, Center. Wendy had just one a hand and was bringing in the dough. So here is Princess Wendy (as she was known) enjoying a great evening of fun!

  1. So, so sorry about your friend. I wish I had better words of wisdom, but I just don't know why things often work out as they do. Hugs!

  8. What a lovely tribute to your dear friend. I am praying for you right now. My heart aches for your loss. I understand your feeling robbed. My best friend lost her ex-boyfriend in a car accident when i was in college. He was a guy I was growing close to and when someone young goes to Heaven we feel jipped. Times like this I yearn even more for Heaven!

  18. So sorry to hear of your loss. May God be with you during your time of grief. I've lost a few loved ones to cancer, so I can relate. It hurts to know they're no longer with us, but good to know they're no longer suffering.

  28. I'm so sorry to hear you lost one of your best friends. You'll always remember her, but time will ease the sting of grief. It's such a misconception that people die of old age. I used to work for a church and we would bury people in every single age group, starting with infants. Most people die long before retirement.

  29. So sorry to hear of your loss. People around me just seem to be dropping like flies. My mom told me getting older sucked, but it seems it isn't for the reasons I imagined. And I'm not all that old (unless you ask the children) , only 40.

Just last week, a woman who began teaching 5 years ago & my son was fortunate enough to have her, well, she passed away. 30 - she was 30.

I can tell you, from recently losing a good friend, it does start to hurt less - eventually. It really does suck...bad...when people we love die.

Just a question - I've been out of the blogging world for a while. Is everyone linking up with everyone this way? You add mr. linky to me, I add mr. linky to you?

  30. (((healing hugs))) for your heart. I have lost too many to cancer also. 43 is way to young. I am sure she is watching down on you from above and will always be a big part of your happy memories. ~Faythe from GMT~

  31. So sorry for the loss of your friend, but praise to the Lord that she is in heaven and no longer in pain! :) Some day you will be reunited with her at the feet of Jesus. Oh what a glorious day!

Sending virtual hugs your way, my friend.
