As soon as I read this I knew exactly the picture I wanted to enter. This is a picture of our cat Murphy. One morning while getting ready for work I went out to our living room to put on my shoes. I sat down on our ottoman and looked up to see Murphy resting on the arm of our couch. The sun was streaming in our front window and he was enjoying being bathed by the warmth. Our living room walls were a pale yellow and the sun was just bouncing off of them too. I leaned down to grab my camera, shot this picture and went to work. This is the picture that I realized that I got. I love how our yellow walls behind him came out black. It is one of my all time favorites of him.

that photo ROCKS! you don't need picnik--you are a pro at lighting. Actually, i'd love to see what your photos would look like with some picnik added. I'm sure it would be even more incredible!

That is a very dramatic image! Your cat's pose is perfectly regal and the bright light fading to shadow looks lovely.
