Wordless Wednesday & Wordful Wednesday ~ My Fair Lady

Performance weekend finally came and went for My Fair Lady.  Sam and I had a ton of fun and are kind of sad that it has ended.  So while we sing the songs again and again in our heads you can see some pictures of us and some of the cast.  Yes, there was a real monkey in Act I, Scene I, and he (Mikey) was the sweetest monkey!  Make sure you click on the pictures to see them full size.  We can't wait for the next one!

If you would like to see more Wordless photos head on over to Wordless Wednesday, 5 Minutes for Mom, Live and Love...Out Loud, and J. Leigh Designz.  Now if you're like me and sometimes you can't stay wordless head on over to see some Wordful Wednesday photos at Seven Clown Circus.

I would love to come and visit your Wordless Wednesday photos so please leave me your link and I'll come on over.

Still In Awe

Okay...I've run a few days behind here.  I have posted every day this year until this week. ACK!  But I have two very good excuses!  First and foremost I went last Wednesday to pick up my new Chevy Malibu that I will be test driving for the next month.  It is sooooo nice!  Stop by here later this afternoon or this evening to hear more about it all!  Here take a look and remember to click on the pictures to see them full size:

See what I mean?  There will be more of that coming up soon.  Second, Sam and I were in the musical
"My Fair Lady" with the Mansfield Community Theatre.  We had tech week last week, dress rehearsal last Thursday and then four shows starting Friday evening.  It was a wonderful cast, orchestra and crew and the show itself was fantastic.  I'm still working on editing my photos of the cast and will do a post about it soon.

Wordless Wednesday - Roses

100_6483

Okay...I know this is supposed to be "wordless" but I wanted to let you all know where these roses came from. Sam is very proud of these roses as we got them after the final performance of Meet Me In St Louis this past Sunday afternoon. I think the theater bug has bitten him as he keeps asking me when the auditions to My Fair Lady are going to be held.

Head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to see more Wordless Wednesday photos! They are always so good!

Meet Me In St Louis

As some of you may know Sam and I are in the chorus of the Mansfield Community Theatre's production of Meet Me In St Louis. Last night was opening night. It went really well! We have two performances today and one more tomorrow afternoon. I had my camera with me but I completely forgot to take some pictures so I'll try to get some today or tomorrow to share with you. Here's a video of Judy Garland doing The Trolly Song for your enjoyment.

Tech Week

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! This is Tech Week for the musical. We have been rehearsing every night since Sunday and will continue until the show which starts on Friday! It's a lot of fun to do not to mention it's so nice to see it all coming together! Last night's rehearsal went long and Sam and I didn't get home until 10:30! Andy couldn't make rehearsal last night due to work but he'll be there the rest of the week. Tonight is a run through of the entire musical and then Thursday night is dress rehearsal. Can't wait for opening night. Here are a few pictures of a rehearsal a few weeks back. I'll try to get some more pictures tonight and of course during the performance.
This is the very first scene where the salesmen are on the train discussing Harold Hill and how he "doesn't know the territory!"

"Marcellus" is on the left and "Harold Hill" is on the right. "Marcellus" is telling "Harold" about "Marian" during this scene.

Sam and one of his new friends waiting for one of their scenes. Okay...doesn't his friend look like a young Ron Howard???

Some of the "Pick-A-Little" ladies rehearsing a scene with Harold Hill.
Some of the "Pick-A-Little" ladies receiving some instruction from our director.

"Library" scene where they are doing "Marian The Librarian".
"Mayor" is on the left and "Harold Hill" is on the right. Rehearsing a scene together.
Here's two quick videos of the teens, Harold, Marian dancing during "Marian the Librarian". They had only rehearsed this dance for maybe an hour or so before hand.

Sam in Seussical the Musical, Jr.

Last month Sam and his second grade class put on Seussical the Musical Jr. They had a lot of fun putting it all together and we had a blast watching them all. There were risers on the stage and two sets of risers on either side of the stage on the floor. They did a fantastic job and I'm so proud of them all. Here is just a little snippet of one of the songs. Sam was also one of the narrators for the musical. In fact he had most of the narrator lines memorized and could say them all for me on cue before the show.

Sam is on the front row towards stage right. I love watching him towards the end of the song when his arms are up in the air and they are moving them up and down. He puts his whole body into it.
