Word Verification

This is a post from CrAzY Working Mom (used with permission). If you use word verification please consider. I used to use it when I first started my blog but then I realized how much I hated to enter all of those crazy letters just to post a comment. I still have it set for me to approve the comments but I don't use the word verification. Read her post and please consider going away from word verification.

"Do you use it? If so, why? Here at the home of Crazy Working Mom, there is no word verification to slow you down. I am glad to have you here and don't want to hinder you as you leave a comment! I HATE word verification. If I get spam in my comments, which happens rarely, I just hit the delete button!

(this word verification was on a blog I frequent...needless to say I didn't get it right.) odbteiwn".

I can understand if you didn't get very much spam in comments, and it makes sense to not have verification, as much as it's a pain in the bum, for some sites who recieve thousands of spam comments, it takes a lot of time to delete them all. I'm for word verification, but with simple everyday words like chocolate or beach. Right now, I don't have the plug in for this type of word vericfication, but I have a spam killer which filters my comments.

I personally if I was still on Blogger would opt for comment moderation. I'd get notified of comments from months ago, which with word verification, someone might leave a comment on my one of my posts from weeks ago, and if I didn't have comment moderation on, I'd never notice it, so again comment moderation on Blogger is a GOOD THING! :)
