Update on Sam
As promised here is a quick update on my boy. He is a true trooper. His surgery went great and his recovery is going fantastic. He's actually staying calm and I've only had to remind him a few times to calm down. He has spent most of the time playing video games or building quietly with his Legos. Today was the first day that he didn't ask for a pain pill until the middle of the afternoon. He's still taking one at night because turning over and tossing and turning in bed is still uncomfortable. He's sleeping through the night and rarely complains about it. I'm thrilled about how well he's doing. Tomorrow we are thinking of taking him to go see a movie (cheap theater only $1.75) and possibly next week taking him to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Don't know what Fossil Rim is? Check out this video:

Sam's Surgery
My sweet, sweet son will be having surgery this week. I know that everything will be just fine but there is something about your child going in to surgery. He's had surgery before but that was when he was an infant and he didn't know what was going on. NOW? Now he knows what's going to be going on and I really think that makes it harder for a parent. You want to be honest with your child and let them know that, yes, it is going to hurt when you're out but everything will be okay. We'll be there for them and will hold their hand through it all. His surgery is on Tuesday and we'll find out the time of his surgery tomorrow after noon when we call in. I'll keep everyone updated as we know more.
So to my family, extended family, friends and followers please say a little prayer.

Sam Tells Us How It Is
Last Saturday Sam and I were doing two shows of My Fair Lady and in-between the two shows they were providing us with lunch. Unfortunately what they were having Sam was not interested in eating so we had to go somewhere quickly to eat. The temperature was in the 100s here and I wasn't looking forward to going out into the heat of the day. Then I remembered that we had the remote start with the Chevy Malibu so I started it and let it cool off a bit before heading out. I just love Sam in this video and I honestly couldn't wait to share it! I didn't prompt him one bit. He asked for the camera and I honestly had no idea what was going to come out of his mouth. This was his first and only take and he did a fantastic job with it. Please thinking of him (and us) as he has surgery next Tuesday.

Sam's Surgery
We finally know when Sam's surgery is going to be! It took a few weeks after his ultrasound and a few phone calls to the doctor's office to find out that his Doctor was on vacation. I don't mind that he was on vacation, I just wish that they would have told us the first time we called to inquire. His surgery is going to be on July 27th. I'm going to start looking for movies and things for him to do while he recovers. His recovery time will be about a week. I'm sure the first few days will be easy to keep him calm but I can guarantee that the last few days of his recovery will be harder for him to handle. I'd love to hear any ideas that you all have!

Pending Surgery
Don't have much to post today but wanted to share with you some news about Sam. Sam will be having surgery this summer. We don't have a date yet but we have seen the doctor, a surgeon and he had an ultra sound today. Seeing that all written down makes it seem really bad but it really isn't. Sam has undescended testes. The ultrasound today put our minds at ease. During his last doctors appointment with the surgeon he could barely feel one of them and thought that he might not even have a second. We are relieved to report that he does have two! I think Sam was happy about it too. He asked me the other day if he only had one would he get a fake one for the other. Gotta love kids! Sam may be embarrassed that I am posting this here but if you were sitting right here with him he'd tell you. So I don't feel too bad about writing it down. As we know more I'll post more.
