Forty-or-less- Photo Challenge

I'm going to give Pensieve's Photo 40 Challenge a try. I found her blog during the bloggy giveaways and have enjoyed reading it for the past week. She is starting this challenge where she will post a picture on Wednesday and then,

"Inspired by what you see and how you interpret the picture, write:
- A 40-or-less-word caption
- A 40-or-less-word title
- A 40-or-less-word post
- A 40-or-less-word poem
- 40 or less syllables of either!" -- taken from her site rules.
So here is the first one done in haiku style:

Summer is now here.

I'm REJOICING in my life.

Celebrate the day.

I wish I could take credit for the photo but the owner of the blog PENSIEVE is the one that posts the picture and we have to do the 40 or less....

Short, sweet, your haiku is a wonderfully natural response to the photo. "Rejoicing" IS what she's doing! She makes ME wanna rejoice, too :).

And as a p.s., when I've joined Laura's "15 Words", I always try to make it clear it's HER picture, not mine (I include it so readers will know the inspiration; I guess it's natural for readers to think it's "your" shot even when you said you were writing as part of the challenge. This is getting long, lol, but I wanted to thank you for giving photo credit to me :). I never thought to "correct" readers when they made that common mistake...I'll be sure to if there's a next time as a courtesy to the photographer :) ).

I've always changed my perspective on life with the changing of the seasons, too.

Ah … your Haiku reminds me of my 34 years as a teacher and the freedom of summer vacation’s arrival! It certainly FEELS like summer here in Southern California lately with temperature in the 80s here at the beach ;--)

I’ve participated at Sacred Ruminations today combining Robin’s challenge with Haiku Friday.
Hugs and blessings,
