Looking at the Sky on Friday

For Looking at the Sky on Friday this week I thought I would just take a portion of a picture of a cloud to share with you.  I love the depth of this cloud and once I took just a snippet of it out of the full picture I realized how much more you could see.

Sam and my dad went with Sam's Scout Pack last weekend to tour and spend the night on the USS Lexington.  They had a great time and Sam can't wait to go back.  I'm so glad that they went last weekend as Hurricane Alex is dumping rain there this weekend along with duping it here.  I'll have to post more pictures of their trip later but I wanted to get these up for Looking At The Sky On Friday.  Dad...you did a great job with taking pictures for me.   If you are here from Trendy Treehouse or Looking At The Sky On Friday...WELCOME!  Please have a look around, leave me a comment and let me know that you were here today.

As you all have probably heard by now...we got 12 inches of snow yesterday! For some of you this isn't big news but we live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas and this is big news. We don't get but maybe a dusting of snow. If anything we get ice and cold weather before we ever get snow. I personally have been wanting snow more than anything else and this has been a wonderful gift to have. We actually had some FANTASTIC weather today! It got up to 78 degrees! Can you believe that? Our normal high here should be in the 50s. Not near 80! Oh well. I'm not going to complain to loudly. Today we had blue skies and white whispy clouds. Enjoy!

Forgot to grab my camera earlier this week when the skies were nice which I'm upset about because the other morning there was a gorgeous sunrise. Today...cloudy and rainy all day long. Today we have overcast skies and not worth picture taking so I'm digging back into my archives of sky pictures for this weeks Looking At The Sky On Friday submission. Running behind as usual with my sky photos for Looking At The Sky On Friday. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos taken of the sky this week and today it has been raining all day. So either I take a picture of gray skies or I can share with you some photos that I took back in 2007 when we were living in Louisiana. These were taken at a friends house that is actually an old plantation house that belonged to a Dr during the Civil War. We were there with our Sunday School class having a crawfish boil. Here are some pictures that I took of the sky with some old buildings and one with the plantation house. I'm a bit late getting my photo up for Looking At The Sky On Friday but I finally am here getting it up. I spent all day up at Sam's school helping close down our PTA Book Fair. Then once Sam was home we ran a few errands and then we were off to pick Andy up from the airport. We are now finally all back home and finally resting from our long day. It was then that I remembered it was Friday and I hadn't gotten up my photo that I had taken earlier this week. I'm glad I took a few photos because today it was dark skies with scattered showers. As you all have probably noticed I like taking pictures while I'm in the car. Most times it's while I'm driving. I don't really look at what I'm taking a picture of. I see what I like, reach my hand over to my camera and then point and click. I look at what I captured later. That way I can keep my eyes on the road. I've gotten really good at it too. Now if there is an image I want to be sure that I get then I'll pull over and take the picture that way. Here are some pictures of the sky on our way into Springfield MO, this last trip up there. I love the blue, blue sky in contrast with the white fluffy clouds and green trees and grass. What I find interesting is how the colors differ in the last photo compared to the first two. Now that I'm back from our vacation I'm going to start updating this blog again. But first I'm going to share a photo with you that I took back in June for Looking At The Sky On Friday. In June we had many nights with amazing sunsets. One of those nights (okay more than one of them) I went outside and captured them. Here is just one of those photos.

Okay so it's already Saturday and I forgot to post my Looking At The Sky On Friday picture so I'm doing it now. This was my view Thursday afternoon and today. I took Sam to Hawaiian Falls and had a great time relaxing while he was out having fun in the water. I also had fun in the water but I also had a lot of fun lounging around.
